Tarot -13- Death

Moving on, the Fool walks through the night. Her head is still reeling from the clarity of her visions. She lifts her head finally, as the sun rises to come face to face with an black-armored woman barring her path. She recognizes this winged soul as death herself and kneels before her.
Death smiles soullessly and lifts the fools head to meet the gleaming jewel placed in her helmet. It shows the fool her life, her loves her travels and triumphs.
"I have died?" The fool asks, a sense of rest and peace creeping into her tired voice.
"In a sense--A part of your life will end here. You must give it up in order to pass this point. The sun rises beyond the mountains and you will see the new morn if you make this sacrifice."

Transformation, change, sudden and abrupt, out with the old and in with the new. Losing it all the gain the world. humility and sacrifice.

The background just flew from my tablet and the character drawing it something I'm particularly proud of. It was daunting to get the right pose but once I got the character with all the elements I wanted on it (the scythe, the white banner with black roses, and the sunrise) the whole thing just came together.
